About the artist
When I had the opportunity to build my studio, I elected to erect a shed in my garden; there is nowhere I'd rather be than in nature, surrounded by trees and flowers. I think that appreciation for my surroundings really embodies the nature of my landscapes and studies. There is inherent beauty in the mundane world that encompasses our daily lives.
I've lived in Southwestern Ontario for three decades, and it has served as my muse, as well as my home.
All of my work begins as an on-the-spot sketch, and I either add colour directly on the page, or work with linoleum for a relief print.
I also run a bi-weekly figure drawing class in Sarnia, Ontario,
